What you need to know about CIMA's septic system to keep everyone happy.

Hello homeowners and boaters!

This is an important reminder about maintaining the health and smooth functioning of our sensitive and fragile septic system.

I was reminded of this when I saw a commercial about "flushable wipes" today.

As with most things on the river our system is NOT like a land based system.

It is imperative that we all follow these rules AND be sure our guests are aware of them as well.

The only 2 (TWO) thing(s) that are flushable at the marina (this includes the community restroom in building #1 aka the rec room restroom) are:

  • Human Waste

  • The smallest amount of toilet tissue (toilet paper) possible

What is NOT flushable are:

  • ANY type of wipes (even flushable wipes are NOT flushable here!)

  • Feminine hygiene products (NONE of them!)

  • Pet waste

  • Napkins

  • Paper Towels

  • Food

  • Chemicals

  • Anything that is not human waste or bath tissue!

It is also highly recommended that honey pots should be hosed out and inspected at least twice a year (quarterly is best)!

If this is not something that you wish to do on your own call Speedy Septic at 503-663-2223.

Our system is inspected on a regular basis and is functioning well now. Our goal is to keep it that way!

Thank you for your attention and diligence to this important matter.
